Our original LibertyCon 35 Artist Guest of Honor, the wonderful and talented Amanda Makepeace, will unfortunately not be able to join us next summer. But never fear, we’ve had another amazing artist graciously agree to return to our convention and spend that weekend with us. David Mattingly will now be LibertyCon 35’s Artist Guest of Honor, having filled the role at both LibertyCon 13 (1999) and LibertyCon 21 (2008) previously.
For those of you who might not be familiar with David and his work, you’ll be awed and amazed at the breadth and depth of his talents! David began his career as a matte artist at Walt Disney Studios, becoming the head of the matte department there until he transitioned to creating art for countless book covers. He’s worked with almost every publisher you can think of, including Bantam, DAW, Del Rey, Dell, Marvel, Omni, Playboy, Signet, Tor, and Baen Books. The illustrations he’s most known for are the book covers for David Weber’s Honor Harrington series (Baen Books). Make sure you take time to explore more of his work on www.davidmattingly.com.
We’re thrilled to welcome David back for our 35th anniversary year!
